Tinchy Stryder Nominated for Best British Single at Brit Awards Ceremony

Rapper Tinchy Stryder is up for a Brit Award this year, and he appears to be thrilled at the idea. The 22-year-old musician has been recognized for his single “Number One,” a collaboration with N-Dubz. The track is contending for Best British Single.
His competition includes “Bad Boys,” by Alexandra Burke featuring Flo Rida, Cheryl Cole’s “Fight for this Love,” Lily Allen’s “The Fear” and “In for the Kill” by La Roux.

Stryder took to his Twitter account to express his surprise and thank fans for their support: “I am nominated for a BRIT award!!! … Wow!! I’ve come a long way. Thanks to everyone congratulating me on the brits nomination…I appreciate it a lot.. 1love x”.
The artist behind “Take Me Back” admitted frustration at not having picked up any of the MOBO awards he’d been nominated for back in September, but perhaps things will work out better for the rapper in the new year. The Tinchy Stryder music videos are usually full of funny moments, but the rapper was pleased to get the Brit nomination.

In addition to the Brit nomination, Stryder has been making headlines for his efforts in raising money for the earthquake victims in Haiti. Though he won’t be able to perform at a charity gig in London, the rapper has donated merchandise for the raffle to take place at the event to benefit survivors.

“It’s so sad and I know everyone who’s seen the news has been touched by how many people have lost their lives and been made homeless,” he said, ” – now, more than ever, it’s about playing your part, so whether you can give £5 or £50, be a part of it.”
